Nadine Mockler and Laurie Young, Co-founders and Owners

nadine_laurieNadine and Laurie are recognized experts on the topic of flexible staffing solutions and their opinions and counsel are sought regularly by the media, business organizations, and companies.  They are authors of the book, The End of Work as We Know It and are regularly interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, and Crain’s New York Business on the issues of workplace flexibility and work–life balance. They have appeared on CNN, CNBC, WCBS-TV, WCBS News Radio 880, Bloomberg TV, and more.

Nadine and Laurie met in the late 1980s when they were working at a leading New York City advertising agency.  Like so many young women of their generation, they were successful Baby Boomers, armed with MBAs and years of expertise gained in a succession of jobs and regular promotions. When they saw how legions of talented, experienced women like themselves were caught between career and family, they knew it was time to forge a new path. They founded Flexible Resources in 1989.

One of Flexible Resources' first placements set the stage for the ground-breaking flexible staffing success that was to come.  They matched up an Ivy League MBA mom of four boys seeking work–life balance with a Fortune 500 food giant on a tight budget seeking a senior-level packaged goods expert. Flexible Resources helped the company create a 9-to-3 position that valued results over face-time.

Over 20 years Nadine and Laurie have proven that flexible staffing solutions make good business sense.  They have placed thousands of women and men with hundreds of companies in flexible work arrangements that simply didn’t exist before Flexible Resources created them.

Nadine is a graduate of Georgetown University and has an MBA from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management.  Laurie graduated from Tufts University and has an MBA from, the Tuck Business School, Dartmouth College.
